England Slovenia Odds – Best Odds are a 5/1 ENGLAND Win

The next England Slovenia game was at the 2010 World Cup (group stage) where Defoe again featured, netting the winner in the 23rd minute.  Although Jermain can’t influence the England Slovenia odds this time, the huge home support expected will surely be a major factor.

Berahino Called Up

Roy Hodgson has rewarded the feats of the West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino with his first England cap.  Currently the top (English) goal scorer in the Premier League, Berahino’s  England record at under-21 level is Ronaldo-esque:  10 goals in 10 matches.  Not to put too much expectation on the lad.

The speed of Berahino’s development has been nothing short of incredible.  It’s hard to believe that just a couple of short years ago he was out on loan at Northampton Town, Brentford and Peterborough United. In the Premier League this year, he’s already netted seven goals so far.

The six-year-old heads the field and is ‘ready to do battle’ according to Jamie Snowden.  Having won on the same course and distance at the Festival in the spring, Present View has been prominent in ante-post lists.

Trainer Snowden commented; “We always thought he would carry a nice racing weight in the Paddy Power. It was a fantastic prep run at Cheltenham in a novice hurdle and arguably he should have won but for making a bad mistake at the last and getting beaten a head.  I’m not scared of any one horse. He’s handled the hurly-burly of Cheltenham and proved that he handles the track and the occasion. I wouldn’t swap him for anything.”

About the Paddy Power Gold Cup

The Paddy Power Gold Cup is a Grade 3 National Hunt chase in Great Britain which is open to horses aged four years or older. Taking place on the Old Course at Cheltenham, the Paddy Power Gold Cup is a handicap race run over a distance of about 2 miles and 4½ furlongs  or 4,124 metres in new money. There are a total of fifteen fences to be jumped.

The event was established back in 1960 as the Mackeson Gold Cup and retained the sponsor until 1995.  Its present sponsor is Paddy Power, who have sponsored the race since 2003.

The speed of Berahino’s development has been nothing short of incredible.  It’s hard to believe that just a couple of short years ago he was out on loan at Northampton Town, Brentford and Peterborough United. In the Premier League this year, he’s already netted seven goals so far.
